Membership for the Reading Society of Model Engineers is on an annual basis running from 1st April each year.
There are two classes of RSME membership:-
- Junior/Young Engineer membership for those 16 years and younger.
- Full Membership for those over 16 years of age.
The full membership fee is £20. Junior/Young Engineers membership is free but they do have to be sponsored by a parent or guardian who is responsible for them and is a fully paid up member of the RSME. Junior/Young Engineers are non-voting members of the RSME.
You can sign up to the society either:
- By post using the printable PDF membership forms which you can download here (Adult) and here (Junior/Young Engineer)
- In person by visiting the Society in person. You should be able to find someone available on one of the following:
- Public running days which are the first Sunday of each month other than December.
- Club running days which are the first and third Saturdays after Public Running.
- During the day (10am-3pm) on Wednesdays which are our maintainance days.
By signing up as a member you agree to the following statement:
I agree to abide by the rules of the Reading Society of Model Engineers and to follow any safety or operating instructions necessary to comply with the guidelines published by the Southern Federation, the HSE or other relevant body. I acknowledge that under section 9(3) of the RSME Constitution ‘It is the duty of each member, to exercise his or her powers as a member of the RSME, in the way he or she decides in good faith would be most likely to further the purposes of the RSME’.
The annual subscription for 2025/26 shall become due on the 1st of April 2025. No member shall be covered by the RSME insurances, nor enjoy the privileges of the RSME until their subscription has been paid in full.
In accordance with the GDPR (2018) you hereby consent that the RSME may store your personal data included on this form. This data will be kept for the sole purposes of the administration of the RSME and communicating with you about the RSME, its events and activities. Also, to provide emergency contact information should the need arise.
The RSME will not share or disseminate this information to third parties. The information will be kept up to date, secure and deleted 12 months after your membership ceases.
You have the right to inspect your personal data record and to withdraw this consent at any time upon giving reasonable written notice to the RSME Membership Secretary, who acts as the RSME data controller.
